On Saturday, the boys cross country team and Grace Siehler competed in the State Championship. Chris Scalzi and Ryan Tunkel’s ended their cross country career at this meet. They are pleased with their performances from the whole season and are excited to see how the team improves next year.

Chris Scalzi had an outstanding end to his senior season. Placing 10th out of 155 runners, and finishing with a time of 16:43.79. Overall, the South Carroll Boys Cross Country team placed 10th. We had seven boys competing in the state championship.  Jason Cave (junior) placed 18th, Aidan Hayes (junior) placed 85th, Brendan Caved (sophomore) placed 90th, Patrick Tunkel (sophomore) placed 110th, and Ryan Tunkel (senior) placed 133rd. This was a very bittersweet experience for the two seniors.

Grace Siehler was the only girl competing for the Cavs. Grace placed 47th out of 138 runners, with a time of 21:44.03. Grace is a freshman and is very pleased with her first high school cross country season.

Many of the runners are looking forward to the indoor track season. Good luck to all the seniors in your future endeavors! Good luck to all runners trying out for indoor track! Go Cavs!!
