Today the boys will begin their three day try-outs for the team, along with the rest of fall sports. Both the coaches and players are very excited to begin this season. Last year, the boys went 5-14 but they are hoping to improve this year.

Mr. Carnes is beginning his 31st year coaching boys basketball and his 29th year coaching varsity. Coach Shea has been coaching for 12 years and actually played for Coach Carnes when he was in high school. They are both eager to begin the season. When asked if Mr. Carnes feels he will have a successful season, he is unsure. “We might be good, but so might everyone else. You never really know.”

The players are also excited to get back on the court. Senior Kollin Pavlik is hopeful to be cleared from an ankle injury he sustained while at an open gym. He feels very prepared for this upcoming season because of his experience on varsity last year. Junior Dylan Graham is returning to the varsity team for his second year. Dylan has been working hard in the off season. They both believe they have potential to have a good season.

Good luck to our winter athletes in try-outs!
