The first try-out for girls basketball was on Wednesday, and the team was decided on Friday. The girls are following up after their 6-14 season last year. It was a tough year, but the girls and coaches are optimistic about their upcoming season.

It is a lot more fun and enjoyable to win as a team.”

— Coach Padgett

Coach Padgett is beginning her thirteenth season of coaching girls basketball this year. She feels they have the potential to succeed in this upcoming season. This year, they are focusing on their offensive game. They have a really strong defense but are hoping to figure out how to score more points. They may have a young team with only one senior, Emilee Schaffer, but this will not have a negative affect on the team.

This year the focus is on learning. They need to learn how to play as a team and improve their skills together. Both the girls and Coach Padgett believe they are capable of doing so. Good luck to the girls as they take on their 2017 season!
