Beyoncé knocked our socks off with her incredible performance at Coachella 2018. Between her flawless costumes and choreography, this 2-hour event made history as well; she is the first black woman to headline at this festival.

She explored multiple genres of music, ranging from jazz to hip hop to techno, while being backed by an incredible marching band, consisting of mostly black students

Carter also stunned the crowd by tweaking her songs to fit different tempos, musical genres, and ranges. Embracing traditions from southern black music, this music icon once again proves to us that it might as well be called Beychella.

But of course, it wasn’t just Beyoncé on the stage, the other members of Destiny’s Child, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, paying homage to the band, which broke up back in 2005.  Solange Knowles also made an appearance in a dance-off on stage.

Beyoncé’s presence at Coachella was unapologetically black. Between quoting Malcolm X, referencing historically black colleges, and her astounding outfits, she truly is a queen.
