(1) A Court of Thorns and Roses by: Sarah J. Maas. This book is part of the A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series. This book is also a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast.

Feyre is a 19 year old girl who lives with her two sisters, Elaine and Nesta, as well as her crippled father. This world is split into the faerie realm and the human realm, where humans and faeries do not get along. Feyre’s father was once a very wealthy merchant and the three girls lived lavishly, until one day all of it is lost due to miscommunication, ships getting lost, etc. So now, their lives depend on Feyre’s ability to hunt animals for them to eat and to provide clothing for them. One day, Feyre kills and skins a wolf to provide warm clothing for her family. It is later that night that a great beast from the faerie realm shows up at her door to inform her that she had murdered a faerie masked as a wolf. For this crime, Feyre is to die. Feyre’s family begged the beast for mercy and they compromised on Feyre going to live in the faerie realm with the beast  for the rest of her life. This book is all about her life after being taken to the faerie realm.
