On Saturday, November 10th, the girls and boys Cross Country Teams ran at the 2a West State Meet. The girls team placed 6th overall by scoring a total of 166 points. They outscored every other Carroll County team by four places. Danielle Firlie said that she felt both “nervous and pumped” prior to the race. She was also the only girl to place in the top 10 spots overall, when she secured 7th place. Her time was an outstanding 20:35.58, less than a minute behind the first place finisher. The boys team also managed to place 6th, after scoring 180 points. They were the second Carroll County Team to finish, behind Liberty. Jason Cave was the only boy from South Carroll to place top 10, when he came in 9th overall. His time was an incredible 16:39.08, only 45 seconds behind the first place finisher. Be sure to congratulate the South Carroll Cross Country Team on their exciting season!
