SC Robotics Team Wins Tournament

Amanda Swank, Editor-in-Chief

This past Saturday the SC Robotics Club competed in our first tournament of the year. Our 3 teams teams battled against 25 other teams from all over the state of Maryland. After graduating 17 members last year and only having 3 seniors on this year’s team, we weren’t sure what to expect, but as it turns out, we performed better than ever!

Team Gold, made up of Aidan Yeo and Meredith Eller and led by seniors Mat Erickson, Matt Dolecki and Drew Melis, went undefeated, finishing the tournament in first place and taking home the tournament’s Inspire Award for being the best all-around team (essentially the Tournament’s MVP)!

Team Black, made up of  Brian Deithrich, Kent Cochran, Andrew Dolecki, Tyler DelRegno, Jacob Schroeder, and lead by juniors Alex Wolff and Alex Teacu also performed exceptionally well, earning the tournament’s Innovate Award, for having the most unique design features on their robot.

Finally, Team Silver, made up of Sydeny Arcuri, Delaney Yeo, Claire Kettula, Will Costolo, David Poland, lead by juniors Chloe Kerwin and Anna Plass far excceeded all expectations while finishing just outside the top-10. Congratulations to all!!
