2019 SuperBowl!

Faith Hawkins, Author

On Sunday, we’ll find out whether the New England Patriots or Los Angeles Rams will become the latest team to win the Super Bowl and receive the Lombardi Trophy. As we get ready for the big game, I’m here to answer all the questions you may have about Super Bowl LIII — when it starts, where it is, who’s involved and so on.

Super Bowl LIII will take place on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019. So mark your calendar for next week! while all of the festivities are going on such as the Puppy Bowl, funny commercials , and of course the parties, make sure to be sitting down for kickoff which starts at 6:30 p.m.

If you’ve ever watched the Super Bowl before, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of the Patriots. Under quarterback Tom Brady they have made an apperence at eight different championships since 2001, the same year they beat the Rams for their first of five Lombardi Trophies together. They’ve also been in the last two Super Bowls, overcoming a 28-3 deficit to beat the Atlanta Falcons in 2016 and then falling to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017’s 41-33 . The Rams, meanwhile, won it all back in 1999 but have not taken a title since.

Before any sporting event the national anthem is sung and every year the Super Bowl gets someone new to sing it, This year, Gladys Knight is singing the national anthem before the game starts.

For all you non-sport lovers that tune in just for the halftime show, Maroon 5 will be the star of the halftime show this year. They will be singing many songs such as “She Will Be Loved” and “Moves Like Jagger.” They’ll be joined by rappers Travis Scott and Big Boi.

Enjoy and cheer on your team for the 2019 Super Bowl!
